Hedonsitic Brunch Series at The Hoxton Edinburgh - A Sunday Made for Indulgence
Perfectly positioned just a few minutes’ walk from Haymarket Train Station, The Hoxton Edinburgh has always been one of the city’s easiest hotels to slip into, whether you’re arriving from across town or stepping off a train for a weekend escape. Its laid‑back style, beautifully designed spaces and signature Hoxton buzz make it the ideal setting for a new kind of Sunday ritual: the Hedonistic Brunch Series, hosted each month in the hotel’s Apartment space. It’s brunch, but elevated; a little slower, a little more indulgent, and designed for people who want their weekends to feel like something special.
A Monthly Celebration of Wine, Food and Slow Sundays
Each edition centres around a rotating guest pour, from chilled reds to sakes and rosé, with the menu built deliberately around the featured producer. This first event spotlighted the sparkling rosé and white wines of Bellavista Winery, paired with an Italian‑inspired feast that set the tone for the series. Long tables were beautifully dressed for convivial dining, a live DJ filled the room with warm, easy‑going energy, and guests wandered freely between stations, grazing, chatting and topping up their glasses without ceremony.
An Italian Feast Designed for Indulgence
And the food… this is where the hedonism really kicked in. An abundant Italian spread awaited: the freshest charcuterie including a jamon ready for slicing and plating, giant mozzarella balls with fresh tomatoes, crusty and soft breads, a variety of soft and hard cheeses, savoury croissants filled with soft folds of salmon and cream cheese or avocado and ham, pasta of course, salads, high piles of sliced ham and mortadella and even a gazpacho fountain that became an instant talking point.
Everything was designed for pairing, and the Bellavista fizz rose to the occasion beautifully, cutting through richness, lifting flavours and keeping the whole experience bright and celebratory.
Bellavista Wines Take Centre Stage
Our glasses where constantly topped up with either the Bellavista Bellavista Rosé 2020 or the Bellavista Brut DOC.
Bellavista is one of Italy’s most celebrated sparkling wine producers, crafting elegant Franciacorta wines with the finesse and structure you’d expect from Champagne. The Rosé is a standout; delicate in colour but full of personality, offering notes of wild berries, rose petals and a subtle savoury edge that makes it incredibly food‑friendly. Alongside it, the Brut brings crisp orchard fruit, fine bubbles and that signature Franciacorta creaminess, striking a beautiful balance between freshness and depth. Together, they set the tone for a brunch that felt bright, luxurious and unmistakably Italian, each pour lifting the dishes and adding a touch of celebratory sparkle to the afternoon.
The dessert table was pure decadence with pistachio crusted cannoli, ricotta pancakes with mascarpone cream and fresh berries, and not one but two tiramisus: classic and fragola, both irresistible in their own way.
What makes this brunch series special is its spirit. There’s no stuffiness, no jargon, no formal tasting notes, just good food, great wine and a room full of people enjoying a slow Sunday together. With tickets at £45 per person, including two pours and a generous brunch, it feels like one of Edinburgh’s most exciting new weekend offerings.
The next Hedonistic Brunch is with Bellavista on Sunday 26th July - expect a generous Italian spread, including watching fresh ravioli being made at their interactive station.
And with Minuty (30 August) and Dreamsake (27 September) already lined up, The Hoxton is clearly setting the stage for a summer of delicious, hedonistic Sundays. If you’re looking to elevate your weekends with something stylish, social and a little bit indulgent, this Italian extravaganza is absolutely the one.
