FOOD : Bottomless pizza for £16 from Gordon Ramsays Street Pizza

Yes, I did a stupid thing, but I don’t regret it. I travelled all the way to London to try Gordon Ramsays Bottomless Street Pizza, when I have one 5 minutes from my home in Edinburgh!

Was it worth it?? hell yeah. Plus the Edinburgh one is more a takeaway whereas this one in Southwark, London South Bank is a restaurant.

REVIEW OF GORDON RAMSAYS STREET PIZZA, SOUTHWARK, LONDON

Located beneath Gordon Ramsays Street Burger on Great Suffolk Street. this is one funky place that no doubt fills up with locals and tourists alike.

You can’t help but notice the incredible murals and artwork as you walk in. Some serious technique and skills from the amazing GMan Graffiti Kings . Gordon is a massive fan, having used these kings of the spray can in many of his restaurants and outlets.

Inside the space is filled with a mix of seating, tables for two and for groups. There’s ball games at the far end to play and overall this space is really fun. It’s got a lovely chill vibe with the pizza’s hot and the beer cold. The staff are fabulous - very friendly, charming and just so good at what they do. There were maybe only 20 people in when I dined but the restaurant manager worked his way around every table - a wee bit o banter goes a long way.

When Chef Gordon puts his name to something, you know its going to be good. I had no idea what to expect other than greatness, so the expectation bar was HIGH. Alas the pizzas seen the bar and raised it.

You can order their Bottomless pizzas for £16. Order one pizza, finish it, order another and another, or be like me and only manage 6 or so slices. Still, they were bloody delicious slices.

Thin base, chewy crust, no soggy bottoms and the perfect amount of sauce to pizza ratio; and when you have great quality ingredients, it really shows.

I went for a half n half:

🍕 Classic Mozzarella

🍕 Corn 🌽 & Chorizo with pulled chicken, mozzarella, spring onions and Coriander

I also tried a slice of their special :

🍕 Next Level with a cream sauce base and chicken, bacon 🥓, scamorza (a drier version of mozzarella), red onion, green peppers and tamarind BBQ sauce. 🌟 My fav one.

After enjoying an ice cold beer with this pizza, I sunk back into my seat with so much satisfaction and just sat a while soaking it all up. It was early evening, so with a sated appetite, I slow paced it over to London Bridge (15-20 minutes walk). I was staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express (an 8 minute walk away) - read my review HERE
