NEWS : Aldi set to be Chieftan O the Puddin Race with Burns Night SpecialBuy Range

Scots can pick up all their Burns Supper essentials in Aldi’s new Burns Night Specialbuy range, available in all 91 stores in Scotland. With prices starting from as little as 99p, customers will find a selection of traditional Burns produce, as well as twists on classic Scottish dishes.

Aldi has partnered with Simon Howie, McIntosh of Strathmore, Mackie’s, Kindness Bakery, Maw Broon’s Kitchen, Stewart Brewing and Williams Bros Brewing in a deal worth over £210,000.

Leading Scottish Butcher, Simon Howie, has worked alongside Aldi to bring customers a brand new, showstopping Specially Selected Chieftain Haggis for only £2.69, perfect for feeding a crowd. Aldi and Simon Howie have also created an alternative Burns Supper centrepiece, a brand new exclusive Specially Selected Haggis En Croûte available for only £3.29. This includes Simon Howies vegeterian and gluten free haggis.

Other products in Aldi’s Burns Night Specialbuy range include McIntosh of Strathmore’s Vegetarian Haggis Neeps and Tatties, Mackie’s Haggis Neeps and Tatties crisps, Kindness Bakery Oatcake Bites, Cosmo’s Haggis Pizza and Maw Broon’s Kitchen Iron Brew Nougat.

To toast the Bard of Scotland, customers can try a selection of award-winning whiskies, including Aldi’s Glen Marnoch 12 Year Old Highland Single Malt Whisky (70cl, £20.99) and Highland Black 8 Year Old Scotch Whisky for only (70cl, £14). For customers looking for an alternative to the traditional dram, Aldi has partnered with Orkney Brewers, Swannay Brewery to launch a series of craft beers. Priced at just £1.69 (4.4% AVB, 500ml), the brews include a Sneaky Wee Orkney Stout and Scapa Special Pale Ale. Also on offer is Stewart Brewing’s Canadian Breakfast Stout, Not Your Buddy, Guy (£1.79, 330ml, 6.8% ABV).

In 2020, Aldi will open six new stores across Scotland as well as its brand new £25 million storage and chill facility in Bathgate. As part of this, the supermarket has committed to further increasing its range of Scottish products to over 500 by the end of 2021.
