REVIEW : STAY - Renaissance Hotel, Warsaw Airport, Poland

I always wondered why there were so many hotels at airports and for some reason my mind never quite twigged that sometimes with a late or early departure or arrival, taking the load of to reset before your onward journey or the ease of having your hotel 10m away from the airport check in, might be the reason behind hotel airports.

Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Warsaw Airport, Poland

It was the last night of our press trip with Poland Tastes Good before we all went our separate ways back across the globe - some heading to the Far East, some across Europe and a few of us back to the UK.

After 5 days of travelling around Poland, consuming as much food and drink as possible, and absorbing their culture, we were all exhausted and couldn’t wait to to retire to much needed comfortable rooms and spend some leisure time until our flights the following morning.

After staying in a variety of accommodation all week, it was an absolute delight to be back in the lap of luxury - The Marriott Renaissance Hotel, Warsaw Airport, Poland - 5 star luxury.

THE ROOM

The rooms are ultra sleek, modern and beautifully designed. I stayed in the King Guest Room overlooking the Warsaw Chopin airport terminal. Fortunately, the room is sound proofed so although you can see the planes taking off, you cant hear them! The lack of noise is impressive and it’s the one thing that will stand out when you walk into your room. You won’t believe that you are that close to the airport.

The rooms are 27sqm (good size) with a large super comfortable bed, 49 inch flat screen TV, complimentary wifi and a small seating area complete with coffee maker and mini bar.

The bed is always the most important for me and this one was large and would easily fit two people without having to sleep ontop of each other. I like to starfish and this gives me the space to do so. The linen is soft and silky, more than likely Egyptian Cotton and there are ample pillows.

The room comes with custom lighting options that you can control from your bed and most importantly USB ports bedside and in other strategic places around the room. What joy! The alarm clock is useful as when the lights are off the room is extremely dark so it’s handy to have a little light next to your bed.

THE BATHROOM

The bathroom is very funky with chequered flooring and bright blocks of yellow and red wall panels that make the shower cubicle. A superb power shower! The mirror is large with good lighting and gorgeous toiletries available.

The one thing I didn’t particularly like is that the toilet is tucked in behind the door which makes it a little annoying to navigate as you need to be fully inside the bathroom, back against the basin to close the door to access the toilet. Nothing major but worth mentioning.

BREAKFAST

The breakfast here is incredible. This is how you do a Breakfast Buffet. Every kind of food available from continental to full Scottish, a taste of Poland and lots of American foods like waffles and pancakes. There is ample staff who kindly offer you smoothies and to top up your coffee, whilst also enquiring whether there is anything they can get you that you don’t see around the buffet.

I so hope that all my future airport hotel stays are this luxurious but I somehow doubt it. A have to mention that check in and check out is a breeze, and the staff are friendly and extremely helpful.

Would I stay here again - absolutely, without a doubt - I couldn’t really find any fault with this luxury hotel!
