EVENT : Comfort Food Cabaret Fringe Show 2019

After sold out shows last year at Edinburgh Fringe and having claimed Winner 2019 Best Cabaret Adelaide Fringe Festival and Winner of South Australian Government’s Made in Adelaide Award 2019, Michelle Pearson - Australia’s Singing Cook is back in Edinburgh cooking up a storm.

Comfort Food Cabaret is where music and food collide in a beautiful way. Michelle sings her story about the men in her life and how food has always been a part of her growing up.

Her 4 piece band members also steps in occasionally to help with the cooking ~ from mooshing up rice for the arancini balls to licking the spoons from the chocolate mousse mix.

The best thing about this fringe show is that you get a 3 course meal along with it.

Michelle tells the story about her falling in love with a chef - whilst we eat arancini balls with a tomato sauce.

Up next is the date with Pete, sung through twisted lyrics of Dolly Partons, Working Nine to Five and Kenny Loggins, Danger Zone. The audience gets to laugh all the all familiar tale and tuck into a hearty plate of pasta with beef ragu.

Then its onto a more sentimental note, as Michelle talks about her recently passed Dad and the special times they spent together. We get to shed a tear whilst scooping up every morsel of this Chocolate Mousse.

All the food that you eat during this cabaret is made by the Chefs at the Intercontinental following Michelle’s recipes from her recent cookbook also named Comfort Food Cabaret.

Depending on the crowd it can be quite an immersive experience but I know that you will thoroughly enjoy every single minute of the hour and half.

Michelle has a phenomenal voice, her band are superb too and this is most definitely one fringe show you should not miss.

Michelle’s Comfort Food Cabaret is only on for a few more days, until Tuesday 13th August so make sure you catch a show!
