Welcome to The Wee Cottage Kitchen, perched on the the edge of Valley Strand, North Uist, Outer Hebrides.
REVIEW OF THE WEE COTTAGE KITCHEN, OUTER HEBRIDES
Nestled along the serenely beautiful coastline you’ll come across a wee cabin that cooks up sammies and rolls that any passer by will want to eat, even if they’ve just eaten.
From lobster, crab and prawn rolls; combinations of seafood and breakfast items like scallop and black pudding, good ol hearty breakfast rolls filled with Scotlands best - square sausage, bacon, eggs, black pudding to soup of the day and traybakes, this Wee Cottage Kitchen has your hunger sorted.
Their seafood is all local with prawns coming from Lochmaddy Bay Prawns and the crab from their Uncle Hector who catches them fresh from nearby waters. The eggs are from a local farm, the black pudding is Stornoway Black Pudding from Charley Barleys and the rolls from Stag Bakeries. It’s local produce at the very heart!
They serve up their takeaways in recyclable containers that can be deposited in their recycling bins at the back of the cabin. The place is spotless and it seems that everyone does only leave their footprints.
Once your order is ready, grab your roll n coffee and take a perch on benches whilst soaking up the views of Valley Strand - a true natural gem that captivates with its unparalleled beauty. It’s picture perfect with white sand and the crystal-clear turquoise waters enticing you to take dip (we didn’t lol).
This was one of the most incredible viewpoints on our trip. Just what a place for breakfast!

They are seasonal. They close at the end of September and will reopen in at the start of April
